About the Our Other National Debt Project

The essays that appear in Our Other National Debt are written to help people, across different parties and different sectors, make sense of the extraordinary time in which we find ourselves in early May 2020.

We don’t yet know the full depth nor likely duration of the coronavirus crisis, but we do know that we will have to be ruthlessly focussed if we’re to ensure the UK has a truly just and inclusive recovery.

This collection has been pulled together in just a few weeks. It provides a snapshot of the emerging research and represents an initial attempt at an agenda for action for policymakers thinking about the future for our communities, our economy, our public services and our place in the world.

It is designed to provoke debate and we very much welcome responses and reviews. Please do join the debate on Twitter using #OurOtherNationalDebt.
